I'm the guy you call when your marketing needs something built and nobody on your team knows how.

A year

$20,800

That's 520 hours a year spent on something a system could do.

Your numbers, your math. I don't store what you type here.

Most of my work is one of two things.

Tools that don't talk to each other

Your website, CRM, newsletter, store and calendar each hold part of the picture. I connect them, so a signup, an order or a booking lands where it should and the right person hears about it.

  • A dentist-educator's site now sends every signup to the CRM and the newsletter at once, with spam protection built in.
  • A clinic's store and in-office inventory are matched by a script, product by product.
  • A podcast network's guest requests move from the website to approval to booking without anyone forwarding an email.

Work someone still does by hand

If a person does the same thing every week, it can usually run on its own. I build the system and hand you the switch.

  • A podcast network's episodes now turn themselves into articles and newsletters. 933 articles so far from one show.
  • Weekly event registration, reminders and the food headcount run from one form.
  • Campaign reports that used to take an afternoon arrive by email and text on schedule.

Content pipeline

A nine-show podcast network

Every morning, a system checks each show's feed, transcribes new episodes, writes the article and emails the guest from that show's own CRM. On one show's back catalog it transcribed 1,231 episodes with zero failures and wrote 933 SEO articles. It still runs daily.

Referral system

A cookie shop's referral campaign

The campaign idea came from a marketing partner. I designed and built the system behind it: sign-up codes, friend invites, automatic referral credit and reward texts. 1,759 people signed up on their own, they sent 1,071 referrals and 166 free cookies were redeemed in store.

Quiz funnel

A life coach's quiz funnel

Two scored quizzes, 32 questions in all, sort visitors into one of 8 profiles. Each result goes to the CRM, which tags the contact, sends the matching results email and offers the right call. Built, tested and handed over to her in September.

You can stop after any of them.

You're looking at the demo.

This site runs on the same kind of plumbing I build for clients. Your visit has already triggered some of it: where you came from was saved, a headline version was picked for you, and the page matched your screen. If you send the audit form, you can watch it go through a spam check, land in my CRM and text my phone.

You keep all of it.

A lot of agencies make money by keeping you locked in. My plan ends with you not needing me.

The plan

Marketers: bring me in.

You run the campaigns. I build what they run on. When a client asks for something your team can't build, like connecting two systems, a referral program or a custom form flow, bring me in. I build it, your client owns it, and you stay their marketer. I've worked this way with [number] marketing and consulting firms.

Marc Olsen, smiling, in a plaid button-down shirt

I'm Marc. I build the plumbing.

I'm a marketing engineer in Utah. That means I understand what the marketing is trying to do and I can build the machinery that does it. I've been building for businesses since [year]: sites, CRMs, integrations, automations and the occasional whole app. I like to sit in the background and build what's needed, then explain it in plain English. If a platform disappeared tomorrow, I'd rebuild on the next one and you'd still own everything.

A good fit, honestly.

This works best if:

  • You own the business and make the call.
  • Your marketing already runs. You get leads, send email or run ads.
  • You have a list of things that need building and nobody to build them.
  • The business does [$250k] a year or more.

This isn't for you if:

  • You need ad creative or a campaign idea. That's a marketer's job, and I can point you to good ones.
  • You want someone to "do your marketing" in general.
  • You want the cheapest possible CRM setup and nothing else.

Start with the audit.
